FAQs

What do I get for my registration fee?

Your registration fee gets you an official Muddy Mamas t-shirt, live DJ, a complimentary beverage (adult beverage if you’re of age of course)…oh and lots of memories that will last a lifetime courtesy of a professional photographer!

I am not in the best of shape, can I still participate?

Yes. We encourage it! The event is non-competitive and will not be timed, so there is no need to hustle to get through the course. However, you’ll have the option to bypass any obstacle that you’re not comfortable tackling.

What if I can’t complete a particular obstacle?

All obstacles will be manageable. The more difficult obstacles will have varying degrees of difficulty to accommodate to different fitness levels. We would like you to try to complete each obstacle, but if you feel you can’t then you can go around.

What are the obstacles like?

The obstacles were built with “fun” being our number one objective. Some will challenge you a little, some might challenge you a lot – but we’ll be there every step of the way to help you through it.

I can no longer participate, can I get a refund?

This event is a fundraising event for Girls Inc. of Washington County put on by volunteers. Your registration fee goes straight towards Inspiring All Girls to Grow up Strong, Smart, and Bold! For that reason, no refunds will be processed; however, if you are unable to make it, we can transfer your registration to another participant for a $25 processing fee or defer your registration to the next year’s race.

What is the minimum age to participate?

The minimum age to participate is 10 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian accompany them the day of the event. The parent or guardian must sign the waiver online during the registration process for any minor.

What if a wave is sold out?

Each wave has a limited amount of space and once a wave is full, it is sold out.

My team’s wave time is no longer available. What do I do?

We do our best to ensure that teams can run together in the same wave. Register for the closest wave time to your team and send an email to MuddyMamasMudRun@girlsinc-md.org to request to be moved into your team’s wave.

Do I have to be in a team to participate?

No. You can participate as an individual or as a team; whatever suits you best.

I registered for a team. How do I know see who else is registered on my team?

Visit https://www.pinwheel.us/teams/lookup and enter your email address and team code (found on your confirmation email).

Can my family come and cheer me on?

Yes, spectators are more than welcome to come cheer you on that day! There is no charge to watch, but there will be a $5 parking fee per car. And guys, don’t forget to visit our volunteer page if you want to get involved.

What do I wear to the mud run?

Bottom line: we wouldn’t recommend wearing anything you wouldn’t want to throw away, just in case. Making sure your clothes are comfortable is a no-brainer, but when planning don’t forget that you will most likely be drenched coming off the course (warning: potential see through situation). Cotton will absorb water and add weight, so keep that in mind if you are planning a big t-shirt or sweatpants. Spandex is a good choice for mud runs. Even if it’s under you other clothes. It’s lightweight and won’t hold much water. If you are part of a team – have fun and get creative!

What do I bring to the mud run?

  • Valid I.D.
  • Cash
  • Garbage Bag
  • Towel
  • Change of clothes

What is there for spectators to do?

We will have food vendors for them to check out and a DJ who will keep the energy going throughout the day with music. They will be able to cheer on their Muddy Mamas as they cross the finish. We give access to view as much of the course as possible but safety of the participants is our #1 concern which means they may not have access to view the entire course and will not be allowed on the actual course at any point in time throughout the event. We also ask that for safety purposes that you leave your four legged friends at home.

Before you get down and dirty here are a few things that need to happen:

1. Visit our friendly volunteers at REGISTRATION and check in and pick up your goody bag. This will include your t-shirt and race bib. (THIS IS WHERE YOU WILL NEED YOUR I.D.).

2. Then you head over to the “BAG CHECK.” Please note that there is a ONE BAG PER PERSON limit. Coolers are not allowed. NO alcoholic beverages or glass bottles (you can find that in the BEER GARDEN).

3. Now you are free to move about the cabin. Visit our vendors, stretch, dance and chat with other Muddy Mamas while you gradually make your way to the starting line. Our DJ will be giving a shout when it’s time for your wave to line up. (usually 15 minutes before GO TIME).

4. HAVE FUN, LAUGH and GET MUDDY!
